So I just signed up and was concerned about not living close to an Apple Store to be able to go in and trade up into the new one next year. I called apple, and they lady I spoke with said that apple will ship my my new iPhone, and I will ship back the old one...but everywhere I read it mentions that you must go into an apple store to upgrade....anyone have any experience? Know for sure? If I have to go into the store I just need to cancel my order.

Right now you have to go in store for the upgrade, hopefully that changes next release. I'm betting it will.

Then the 'Lady' you spoke with Either misquoted you or made an exception. Contact Apple to verify either way.
