I’m looking for some help.
I have an appointment at the Apple Store in Sunday to upgrade to the iPhone 12.

I will be renewing my Apple Upgrade Programme contract. This is the first time I have renewed. Do I need to reset the old phone in advance before I hand it back or will they do this in store for me?

You can do it while you are in the store. It takes 2 mins if that to start the wipe process, just make sure you back the phone up before you leave home.

You're better off selling the phone privately, paying off the settlement balance and getting the AppleCare+ refunded. I came out about £200 on top from selling it privately and my AppleCare refund than just handing the phone back.
