Carrier Apple upgrade while on AT&T next.

Have 2 phones on AT&T Next plan bought directly thru ATT. The 2 phones are 80%+ paid off. I know i can upgrade those 2 directly thru ATT with phone trade in. Can I do the same directly with Apple? Want the ability to add AppleCare to the monthly payments ($4 each).


If can’t use the Apple Upgrade programs, can I just do the Att next at the Apple Store and do a monthly on AppleCare?
