This happens every year. Apple copies a simulated screen image from an iPhone to an iPod touch, and the world believes for a moment they've leaked the new one. A 3G iPod would not require use of those bars in the upper left as a UI element because it would have absolutely no integrated voice capabilities. Additionally, the carrier symbol is purposely omitted from Apple's newer promotional materials for the iPhone and iPad. Busted? Busted.

Not true. The iPad has no integrated voice capabilities but still have those bars. The image still proves nothing though.
