The Vision Pro version of the Apple Developer app has a special immersive Environment included that can be used as a backdrop for watching session videos when WWDC begins next week.

Apple's Environment for the Developer app features a black background with neon light animations in the colors of the WWDC artwork that Apple is using this year. It serves as a visually interesting background that's not too distracting for those who want to watch WWDC content with the world shut out.

The Environment is similar to those that Apple has created for general use, such as Yosemite, Mount Hood, and the Moon. It can be accessed when using the Apple Developer app, and immersion can be adjusted with the Digital Crown.

WWDC is set to begin next Monday, with a keynote event that will take place at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. The keynote can be watched in the Apple Developer app, on YouTube, in the Apple TV app, or on Apple's website. WWDC sessions will be available starting on Monday, with Apple releasing new content throughout the week.

The Vision Pro Developer app can be downloaded from the visionOS App Store for free.

Makes you feel all alone looking at that effect. Still interesting. :)

I haven't picked mine up in months. It's ridiculous that I cannot connect a Bluetooth mouse + keyboard to it for a beautiful RDP session. Such simple things/restrictions, lack of added content, lack of developer interest, the novelty has worn off. Shame on me, I guess.
Apple really needs a cheaper version and to encourage WAY more adoption. More people means more content. If this just stays a niche device for people with a lot of money, meh

It just won’t be successful if it’s a goggle

Look, I'm a nerd... I want to put those things on and have a galaxy spinning under my feet. Let me know when it does that.

This is a major missed opportunity. Those of us who have been enjoying our device for the past few months are looking for more ways to try it. I’d love to be able to watch some of the developers conference and specialized Vision Pro environment. It would really be a nice opportunity for them to show off the potential of this device.

I’ve said it a bunch of times but I don’t understand why so many people are negative on this. It’s a $4000 luxury technical device. I really use it every day. So, if you don’t have $4000 to drop on something like this yhen that’s OK. There is a Reason why it’s called a pro device.

Thanks for taking one for the team!

It really isn’t that expensive. You can drop the AVP price on lots of pretty common things. The issue isn’t the price. The issue is that it goes on your face and doesn’t do anything that other hardware can’t do better.

There is a Reason why it’s called a pro device.

Except that Apple doesn’t use the word in that way. They use it as an advertising cue that means “the most expensive one.” Are AirPods Pro intended for a separate, more wealthy or enterprise customer base? No. Is iPhone Pro intended for a separate, more wealthy or enterprise customer base? No. They’re the most expensive ones in their respective product categories but that’s about it.

Yeah, I found it quite sad to watch that video. Maybe it's too obvious but they could have done something like Apple Park... especially if you're then able to share that space with friends.

I'd say the Mac Pro is intended for separate customer base. They hardy market it at all.

So, one exception that proves the rule. The Mac Pro is still primarily a consumer device. It’s also the only Mac product that has had the term “pro” applied to it as an actual descriptor. And even it is not a “luxury computing device” as the member claimed.

The Mac Pro is a $7000+ consumer device.

For consumers who have $7000+ to spend and the desire or perceived need for such a device that can't be met with less expensive alternatives.

The Vision Pro is half that price, but otherwise the same description applies.

I wouldn't use the word "luxury", as it's been corrupted as a marketing term. The seediest apartments I have ever seen often use the word "luxury" in their marketing. So if your idea of luxury is different from mine or the other user, the problem is failure to communicate.

You're better off selling it then. It's been out less than 4 months and if you haven't used it for a couple of months that's one expensive paper weight.

So how do you actually find this immersive environment? Can't find in environments or in the developer app.
