Wherever my feet take me…
I know it's a very niche subject, but will we see MDM support for the Apple Vision Pro? Since we can now manage even Apple Watches, I assume it's within the realm of possibility, perhaps.

Does that mean there's no MDM profile support at all? My work account requires MDM profiles to be installed along with company portal. If not it means I won't be able to use Teams or any of the office apps which will suck.

Given the focus on professional work, it’s likely going to be coming if it’s not already there.

Jamf is surely already working on it. The question, for anyone who has implemented MDM (it’s part of my job), is how tricky is it going to be? It’s been a while, but profile installation for MdM on iOS was a bit of a pain but not overly so.

These platforms all share the same code base and APIs for these functions so other than coming up with new restrictions and device identifiers I’d imagine this is already baked into the cake.

Just for the record I was able to install a MDM profile via email invite to the headset but the MDM server did not pickup its enrolment, just stays at pending invite. Profile installs fine but the app distribution manager does not download to install apps. Since enrolment doesn't register on the server you also cannot push apps to it. I was attempting to use it as a way to distribute apps outside for ownership outside of US Apple ID ownership... nope.

...what's MDM?
MDM = Mobile Device Management. Basically for businesses & schools to better manage devices (computers, iPads, phones, even Apple Watches now). Can push out software, settings, etc. Pretty useful if you have fleets of 100s, if not 1,000s of devices. You can bulk setup instead of going one by one.

Looks like version 1.1 of the Vision Pro OS supports MDM:

Apple is adding support in the upcoming Vision OS beta from what I saw. Should be similar to managing any iOS device and I'd expect support from the usual suspects, in the sense there won't be a Jamf binary like on macOS, of course.
