“In this case, Apple indirectly proves what they really want,” Par Harald Gjerstad, Huseby’s lawyer, told me in an email. “They want monopoly on repairs so they can keep high prices. And they therefore do not want to sell spare parts to anyone other than ‘to themselves.’”

Sound like a great business decision to me. I can’t blame Apple for trying. Not sure if they will prevail.

This is why Apple is against the Right to Repair bills up for legislation in several US States including NY.

Owners of Apple broken products only want their products repaired, not have to reinvest money in hard to repair newer products such as iPads and iPhones.

Do they really have to be made so hard to repair? No but all Apple cares is their profit margin and recently their focus on their code is less on stability and more that if the device was opened then disable it so the owner is punished for looking inside.

I am not disagreeing with you, I was pointing out that Apple wants its way.
