The Anker cables I have are good. But this Amazon braided one is the bomb:

Anker cables work better than the Apple cables for long periods of time. I have the non-braided version. I find that Apple cables are more likely to fray or split after long term usage on the go.

They are also much cheaper than the braided version and they haven't frayed on me yet compared to Apple cables.

I have some braided ones as well (though not by Amazon) and I love them. Very tough and durable.

The non-braided Amazon Basics cables have worked for me as well.

The Apple cables always seemed to fray on me, and they were not going through any rough treatment (eg. Plugged into computer's USB port for wired synching and charging).

As others have indicated, Anker is great. I purchased an Amazon basics iPhone cable not that long ago, and I have been also pleased with the price point. Whatever somebody purchases for a third-party cable, just make sure it's "Made for iPhone" or "MFI".

I haven't had any issues with Apple cables to be honest. I'm just looking for some extra ones at a decent price. $25 for one cable seems a lot.

There is a great deal going on now for standard lightning cables now for $2.99, these are OEM! They are not strip-proof like the Anker, but they are what Apple includes out of the box if anyone wants some.

I’ve had some amazon brand lightning cables for a very long time and they still look and function like new. Compared to Apple brand cables from a year ago.

Tend to stay away from any cable outside of actual Apple cables

They all cost money, just spend a little more for the real thing

Braided or non braided Anker and Amazon Basics cables are very good quality. You cannot go wrong with either brand.

I actually prefer Anker cables. They are not only cheaper, but beefier, higher quality and great company to work with.
I also have a battery backup from them that I lost the case and they sent me another one free.

Apple's cables are better than poorly made 3rd party cables but Anker's cables are better than Apple's IMO. Check out the Anker's Powerline II. It's a beefy cable but if anything does happen to it, it has a lifetime warranty.
