I want to get a Magsafe compatible case that has a bit of protection if it gets dropped. I am currently using an OtterBox Defender, and it is way to large, though I need a case to have provide protection to protect it from my kids grabbing/dropping it. I also prefer a more silicone based material vs. leather.

1. Anyone have any suggestions for a MagSafe compatible case with decent protection?
2. Does the Apple Magsafe case provide enough protection from drops?
3. If you will be taking your phone in and out of your pocket a lot to shoot photos/video, or to just use, is there any reason you can't just put the wallet separately in a different pocket, or your back pocket?

Thanks.

Hi - I am sorry - but your answers to 1 and 2 are pretty subjective - for example, I have kids under 10 and have had my phone drop with the Apple leather magsafe case on it - the case protected it perfectly well so I would say that yes, the Apple Magsafe case provides enough protection. But others have not had success and would say no - you may get a different answer from anyone who drops in to answer. I like it. As to 1, I haven't tried other magsafe compatible cases because the Apple one hasn't failed me with any of my many phones I have used the Apple leather case with.

As to number 3 - yes, absolutely. This is how I use it ALL THE TIME. I love the Magsafe wallet and it is such a handy place to keep my DL, Apple Card and regular debit card. But when I need just my phone, i use it in my front pocket like any other slim wallet or I have occasionally put it in my back pocket. My magsafe holder in my car doesn't work obviously with the wallet, so when I get in the car, I drop the wallet in my front pocket, attach my phone, drive to work, then put the wallet on my phone going into work. It definitely works perfectly that way.

After adding your wallet to the Find My app so you can find it if needed, is there a way to wipe the info from your wallet, or is this not necessary? I'm asking because I am going to try out an AppleWallet, and if I do not like it I can return it, though I will want to obviously wipe any info stored on it.

Thanks

The only info potentially stored on it is your phone number so when it is attached to another magsafe device, it would indicate this is not that person's wallet and display your phone number (if you have activated that feature) so you can be reached. You can just disable that feature before returning it, if that becomes necessary. There is no other information stored. It merely indicates the location where your wallet disconnected from your phone. If it moves, there's nothing that can be done as it only essentially drops a pin where the wallet disconnected. There is no chip to follow it after that, only the ability to list your phone number.
