Hi, not sure if this is the right place so apologies if not.

I was looking to purchase an Apple Watch 6 on 0% finance (Barclays or PayPal) as I almost did with my iPhone earlier this year, I could afford to lay out the money in one hit but payments over 12 months is much more attractive.

I went to purchase earlier today and that option now doesn't seem to be available anymore, looks like it's been replaced with a 14.9% interest option....which is definitely not enticing. Seems a strange move to make considering the outlay for a lot of Apple products.

Does anyone know why it's been withdrawn in the UK??

I was assuming maybe something to do with Covid-19 but it seems to be available in the U.S still?

Slightly frustrating that I've got to make a big outlay or pay a lot of interest when this was readily available a few months ago

Thanks for any insight

Personally, depending on which you were getting, if it's under £1000 you're better of just saving up for it. From my experience, <£1000 isn't worth the credit check footprint.

The 0% offer usually comes on around Christmas, so perhaps check back then.

Isn't this slightly different? This is about a specific credit card. The OP I think is referring to 0% finance when buying from Apple.

The APR is usually around 15% (both with Barclays and PayPal) but sometimes it's 0% with Barclays. I recently bought an iPhone SE using it.

I'm hoping it's not a sign that these 0% finance options are a thing of the past, as I was hoping to use it to buy the new 27" iMac. The model I want is BTO, so I have to get it from Apple.

This doesn't answer your question but this is an ideal reason to get a 0% credit card as there will only be one hit on your credit record if you buy multiple devices and you can pay off the card in the same way you would have done with the finance.

Apple/Barclays stopped offering interest fres credit a few days after the new iMac came out last month. They do this fairly often and not doubt it will be back in a few months time. Obviously doesn’t help if you are looking to buy now though.

Exactly that, I don't know much about Apple card other than its not available in the UK.

Last few times I've looked when on the verge of splashing out they're both had 0%. This time I come back ready to buy and they're both 15% 🤦‍♂️

Hopefully not, I was looking at upgrading my iPad next year and that's not really possible without the 0%

Yeah I've done that in the past and now have a few cards to my name (all cleared) so would have preferred to have the finance directly with the manufacturer rather than yet another credit card to my name and on my file. Will likely have to see if any deals are being offered with the ones I have

Ahhh okay, slightly strange thing to do though no? Taking away finance options ad-hoc like that?
