I just checked my "apple support" page, and my apple watch is on my page and it's showing that warranty has started already,

it's not a huge deal to lose a few days of warranty, just weird it's started before the actual launch date

Apple usually start when they charge you. I ran into the same issue with iPhones and MBP. I assume it is the best day to start since they cant predict when it will get delivered.

does this mean we will be getting it soon? would suck to lose 2-3 weeks of warranty if they delay it into early May

It automatically starts when it charges you for payment. The timestamp apple get for delivery of your product then is automatically the date your warranty will start! Kind of a cool system, this applies for macs, iPods, iPhones etc.
