So what is the latest rumor on the next gen watch? My son really wants an apple watch for his birthday but I don't want to buy the outgoing watch. I have to admit I haven't followed closely enough on the watch tumors lately.

There has been no rumours at all regarding this

If you can, buy it now and he can maybe sell it when the new one arrives

I have came to the conclusion now that I just can't keep up with Apple, im fed up now of the small updates on the iPhone's that I've literally now stopped updating every year. I'm losing too much money and it's only feeding Apples pockets, I should be happy what I have now and use it to the full

Releasing these at the same time seems disastrous. Would force too many to have to choose between one or the other in my opinion

My guess is a late Fall event, in late October / early November. They'll want a new model out before the holidays but after the new iPhone hype. This could take the place of the iPad update that usually happens at this time, since they moved that to Spring.
