No real mention today about apps that require internet access, i.e. weather apps, mail, fantasy football, etc. None of those currently work when the watch is only connected to WIFI, so I am assuming they won't work when only connected to LTE?

Or is that something that is solved in WatchOS4, even for WIFI models?

I am interested in this as well. I was hoping they would add this feature with Edition 3, WiFi included obviously. I don’t have an iphone and only an iPad and would love to go for the watch if these stupid requirements are gone and we can finally check mails and so on independently.

Unfortunately I haven’t seen any detailed info about this either.

Regardless .. you will still need an iPhone with any of the watches, including the AW3. There is no way to setup a watch without an iPhone.

This mentions a few apps .. including mail .. that will work without the phone and connected to LTE:

I'm not seeing the mention of Mail. I'm sure it has it, but that would be a deal breaker for me.

At the very bottom of the page, there are three lines that when clicked take you to another page .. click the second line and it mentions mail ..

"Mail. See the sender and subject at a glance. Tap to see the full message and use your voice to reply."
