For some reason even if my Apple Watch is 2-3 feet away from my phone, it will give the red phone icon on the top of the watch saying that it's unable to reach my iPhone. This happens 5-10 times a day, tried searching online and to no avail.

I didn't experience this before with the Apple Watch 2 - does anyone else have the same issue?

I had similar issues with my two Series 2 AW. After one of the updates, I did a unpair and did the setup as a new watch (not from a backup) and the issue basically stopped. I have not had the disconnect with my Series 4 SS and my iPhone XS - though when the iPhone is not around, sometimes the AW will forget that it is connected via cellular.
