Apple Watch 42mm in-stock lead times

Looking at upgrading to a 42mm watch with either the brown leather band or the Milanese loop; both have long lead times for online order/ship to store here in the UK. The brown leather band model is 4-6 week lead time, and the Milanese loop 8-10 weeks!

Has demand for the 42mm models spiked for some reason, or are the lead times a possible indicator of an OS refresh or new models? Struggling to think of why the long lead times.

Here in USA, the 42mm SS with milanese is long as well, but the 42mm milanese band is available to ship in 2 days... So not sure what is going on, but maybe get the sport band on your watch and order the milanese. If you want it fast.

Perhaps Apple have cut production down and devoted part of the production line to the next watch? Just a guess.
