Auto-launch Audio Apps setting is disabled but still launches when playing music/podcast. Apple 4 has same settings and is not a problem. Will always show watch face.

Have you tried this?: go to Watch settings (not iPhone Watch app settings), General, Activate screen (sorry, I have settings in Spanish), Auto-launch audio apps -> Disbled and in the same menu level go down, Show last app session -> Disabled, and make sure that you have in app session list Now Playing, Music, Podcasts... audio apps -> Disabled
