Wonder how likely apple can introduce a blood glucose non invasive reading on next Apple Watch? As a diabetic this would be no brainier purchase for me, but happy with my series 5 and don’t know if I should sell current watch in anticipation?

Years away, if ever. If you don't have already, try to get a Dexcom g6 or Freestyle Libre. I use Dexcom and it's an excellent CGM.

it will come, sooner or later, the technology exists but it will likely take another 2 years before commercial release

Sadly, not covered by insurance. Well, it is and probably for very little co-pay, but our HMO provider has strict guidelines/requirements on when it's allowed to be prescribed by the endocrinologist and we don't qualify.

I don't believe you can get CGM without prescription and even if you can, the annual costs are astronomical. I seem to recall reading something like $6000 annual cash cost for the Dexcom G6 if it's not covered by insurance.

I don’t see how Apple, or anyone, can do non evasive glucose monitoring.

Being a type II diabetic for years, I finally not the bullet and had my doctor send in a prescription for the FreeStyle Libre. $75 for 2 sensors but that’s a months supply. I spend about that same amount for test strips as o finger stick 2-3 times a day.

While I’d love the Apple Watch X to have BGM, I’m not confident that will ever happen.

I remain hopeful medical researchers will figure it out. Besides, they don't need to be super accurate. Even the at-home fingerstick BGMs are allowed to be off by 15-20% from lab results.

Mind, $75 for a month's worth of test strips? Ouch. Is that already with insurance? At least my co-pay for test strips (OneTouch Verio) is $0.

Underwhelming launch of series 7…no blood glucose measuring or blood pressure. Glad I did not sell my series 5 which is still excellent. All the rumours are just that and wish they would stop.

In fairness, the rumors corroborated neither blood glucose nor blood pressure are coming this year. Indeed, based on rumors, it seems non-invasive blood glucose monitoring won't be ready for several years.

If you do t like rumors, don’t come back to this site, I am not saying this to be “mean”, but it’s the nature of this site…

Really hope this tech will be ready soon.
