I have an Apple Watch 7 that came with the USB-C charging cable. I always left my AW near my bead in Nightstand Mode at night. Occasionally the watch wouldn’t charge overnight. I first thought it was either the USB-C charging puck or the USB-C charger that came with my iPad mini 6 so I switched back to the regular USB charger and pucks. But it still happens every once in a while. And yes I have done hard resets on the Watch and unpaired and repaired it also. If it was happening every night or even the majority of them I would make an appointment at the Apple Store. Any other suggestions?

are you on the latest iOS and watchOS? there have been issues reported here that were fixed one or 2 releases ago, can't remember exactly which ...

I often find my series 3 on nightstand is charging but the display remains on, brightly. I have to remove it and replace it to have it “dim” back on proper nightstand mode

I have the same experience. And I am using only the original charging puck and apple 20w adapter and I am on the latest software.

If restarting before charging does not work then only Apple could help by fixing / replacing it.

I haven't had an issue with it not charging but I have noticed on some occasions that it doesn't fast charge in nightstand mode.
