Recently I upgraded from AW4 to AW7 and I love it! I think the bigger screen is definitely noticeable - and it was apparent as soon as I turned it on. I really like the always-on display too; it's one of the things that I always wanted on an Apple Watch but previous watch updates just didn't seem to justify upgrading from AW4 for the AOD alone.

I noticed two things about the display:

1) In always-on display dimmed mode some of the watch faces seem smaller and expand a bit when they light up as you rotate the wrist. Funny, it seems this dimmed AOD mode seems to be exactly the screen size of the previous Apple Watches (Series 4 to 6) and these watchfaces then expand to fill the rest of the screen (the extra 20% AW7 brings) when they light up.

2) It's a bit unfortunate that this new crystal glass on AW7 casts a bit of a dark tinted border around the screen when you look at the watch from the side, which is apparent on light-colored watchfaces. A minor annoyance, but I hope I'll get used to it.

#1 is by design, presumably to prevent OLED burn-in.

Haven’t noticed your observation in #2, but I don’t tend to use light whole-face colors. And I have the sapphire crystal which may make a difference.
