Does this sound right to you?

I don't like wearing it to bed, but when I used to, it lost about the same level of charge. Surely if you're wearing it, it's working harder to record readings etc?

Not a problem, but just wondered.

Wishing you well.

I always wear mine while sleeping so I've never seen the power drain while it's not on my wrist overnight, but that does sound fishy. At the very least it's not doing HR and O2 readings, there should be a reduction in power consumption, like you said.

Do you have wrist detection enabled?
Have you done a soft reset?

I just turned off tracking sleep with Apple Watch to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the advice.

But it's probably exchanging data with the iPhone over Bluetooth/WiFi. I wear my watch to sleep, so I don't have a sense of how much battery loss there is if the watch is not being worn but off the charger. But I'm not really surprised if the drain is much the same as being worn. My iPhone and iPad also drain around 20-25% if left unplugged overnight. So I try to plug them in before going to sleep. Sometimes I fall asleep before plugging them in, then have to charge them when I wake up.

I was thinking the same thing, especially if the OP is in a weak signal area.

Personally I would just put it on the charger overnight, especially if the OP has a consistent schedule so that Apple's optimized charging algorithm can do its thing.
I don’t have a cellular plan anymore.

I cancelled it some time back, when I stopped going for my walks.

I fully charged it this morning (by about 9am) and it’s only gone down to 97%.

There must be some background activity going on, as suggested by @Night Spring.

I haven’t worn it today. Just couldn’t be bothered with it.

Very strange.

I wear my S7 (no cell plan) for sleep tracking every other day. I put it on ~ 8:30pm and in the morning ~5:45am it's typically slightly over 80%. I then leave it sitting all day and put it on the charger in the evening and it's typically in the mid 40% ... just a reference point

Well it’s now 8:26pm, and the watch was fully charged at around 9am.

I haven’t worn the watch all day, and it’s at 91%.

Something definitively must be going on during night times.

I just turned off all sleep schedules on my iPhone, as I don’t use it anyway.

Just turn off your watch before going to bed and turn it on again in the morning!

Works like a charm and you get more hours of use out of a single charge. The battery should stay healthy and last longer over time, too!

Is that what you do?
