Hi,

doesn't mention anywhere if the Apple Watch will work with the iPod Touch 5th Gen. I hope it does. Does anyone know or found out if it will?

Thanks :)

The iPod is near the end of its life. Apple is no longer updating it or giving it any marketing exposure. The Watch is taking its place in the fitness category and Beats on both iPhone and Apple Watch will take its music title away as well.

As a purely entertainment device for app and game consumption, the iPad mini is more adequate with its larger screen while remaining at a similar price point.

I expect Apple to either eliminate or simplify the iPod category down to one SKU, perhaps keeping only the iPod Nano for purely portable music consumption at a low price point.

How will it work when the iPod does not have cellular data?

I have an android wear (LG Watch) that works without cellular data and GPS. Pebble works on Android and iOS without cellular data and GPS.

There are iPad models with cellular data but are not compatible (according to the iPhone 5 and up requirement on the website). Seriously, not compatible with latest iPad and cellular data? Apple want to cut out that many of their fans?

How are you going to open a hotel room with your device on wifi when it's congestive? How are you going to get iMessages on that same wifi? Are you really going to want to get 20 of them all at once when you get to a wifi hotspot?

It is not about getting the Watch on as many people as they can, it's about getting the right people to buy and use one.

But how will you get notifications etc when on the move away from wifi? I had an android wear watch too and it requires a connection to a data doable phone for constant notification. An iPad and apple watch combo, don't make me laugh.

I use a phone, sometimes I can't get a signal. What happens when there is no signal? It falls back on wifi. So, why can't it use wifi? Why does it have to use cellular data. 1 reason only. Apple want you to buy an iPhone. No other reason.

I am sorry but the Watch is a not as great or as holy as Apple make out and it doesn't warrant a purchase of a new iPhone just to use it.

I use a Nexus 4 and the LG Watch, also Pebble. I don't have a data contract. When I am around WiFi I get notifications. When out and about, I get notified if i receive a text or phone call. That's all I need. Imagine driving and getting buzz after buzz of messages.

I absolutely love Apple products but the Watch. It's not designed by God and assembled by Thor. It's a nicely designed watch designed in California and built in a factory somewhere in China by someone who could not afford to buy one even if they saved up their wages for 5 years!

Yeah i carry an ipad with me everywhere i go. Its really handy for taking pictures as well LOL

iPad with Cellular. It will go in your bag. If the Watch is as good as Apple make out, you won't need to pull out the iPad anyway. Just do everything via the Watch. Providing the battery lasts! ;)
