I seem to have an issue with my Apple Watch in that working out it stops reading my heart rate when lifting weight, burpees or any other type of fast movement workouts. However it reads my heart rate properly when on an elliptical, running or on a treadmill.

I tried adjusting the location of the Watch, seems to work for a bit then stops again. Seems any quick movements will stop the heart rate monitoring. I tightened the watch strap as tight as I can and same issue. Not sure what the issue is and was wondering if anyone has a suggestion.

Thanks

Don't have a watch (yet) personally but the general consensus around here and other forums is that this is just the way it goes. Watch isn't good for HR during weights training.

Yep, clenching your fist or tightening your grip will cause wrist optical HR troubles. Happens on a bike too, when gripping the handlebars.
