I am an older runner and my kids/friends want to be able to track my location when I’m on a run. I DO NIT take my phone with me. how do I make my Apple Watch the primary device on find my?

I remember back when the Apple Watch was first announced with cellular, they said when the watch left the phone, the watch would be the location - and that makes a lot of sense. But as a runner myself, my wife have said she sometimes chech up on me on the very long runs and the locations is locked at home with my phone and not the watch
