I know that however the watch degrades faster than the phone or MacBook Pro.All batteries degrade and it’s usually non-linear.
My experience and I don’t trust study’s.Are you talking anecdotally or have you seen a study?

I just checked my AW6. The battery is at 79%. It was 2 years old on 9/20/22. I get a message saying it should be serviced which I take to mean replaced. Seems to be running fine. Still only charging it in the morning when I wake up. Do I need to get a new battery now or is the 80% threshold just a recommendation?
Yeah but you lose the water resistance if you replace the battery. You don’t have to get the battery replaced. If it is not lasting all day it would be a good idea. For what they are charging to exchange watches with one with a new battery, that is also a great option. I have bought a new watch every year until this year and stuck with my SBTi Series 7 and likely get the battery replaced one day but still at 100%.
If Apple changed the battery and water intruded, I would be asking for the watch to be replaced free!Yeah but you lose the water resistance if you replace the battery.
I’m m not sure how accurate that battery health statistic is. I have a series 5 that was at 81% battery life on the last OS. When I upgraded to 9.x, it all of a sudden went to 87%. And has stayed there ever since. It was either measuring incorrectly on watch os 8, or is measuring incorrectly in os 9
