Apple Watch Display On while charging?

I bought a Spigen charging stand and am wondering if the Apple Watch display stays on while charging?

Great question, I'm afraid the answer is no. I say this because I've read that you need to enter a password after putting it on -- maybe this was just for Pay.

Every video I've seen that shows it charging has a clock face displayed.
