Apple Watch ECG function

Hey all,

So I am looking at buying an Apple Watch for my cousin. I am trying to establish if the ECG will have to be supported in his country in order for the function to work? Does anyone know if your country has to support ECG to work?

Yes, the country where you activate the watch has to be supported. You can activate the watch in a supported country using his Apple ID to have it activated, he can then repair in an unsupported country and have it work or buy a new watch and still have access to ecg

Nalk7 is right, you have to activate the watch on a country where ECG is supported. Later you can send it to a different country and it will continue to work.

Just make sure you activate it with his account, the unlock is tied to the Apple ID you use
