Good morning and Happy Friday!

Thinking about kidding one of the kids an Apple Watch SE and setting up with Family Setup so we can track and talk to him if needed. My wife and I both have iPhones and Apple watches already. Question...

Both of us would like to be able to monitor, track, and communicate with him. Is this possible? Ideally both of us would be able to manage his watch.

I have been doing this with my 3 kids since the SE launched and family sharing became an option.

Short answer is yes.

Only one of you can directly manage the watches but both can track and talk.
I purchases 3 new Cellular SE watches and went through the family setup for each. All 3 were assigned their own phone number. Then using apple screen time, you can manage contacts, etc....

Once set up you both can track via the Find My App. Go into Find My on all the watches and choose share location with Mom, dad, etc...

super simple and works like a charm!

In the content restriction settings can you disable pre loaded apps and installing other apps from the store as well? I want to make sure that they can't add bad apps or use apps that are already loaded on the watch that I don't like. Also, do you think it would be possible to set this up on a regular non cellular watch and pair it to a persons iphone?

yes - you do it all under their Apple ID and Screentime restriction. Has to be a cellular model can't do it on WiFi
Apple lets you setup child apple ids
