Apple Watch has duplicate calendar entries

So, my iPhone shows a single calendar entry for all my calendar items, however, my apple watch shows duplicates of every single event on my calendar.

Has anyone experienced this?

it appears to be the case with:

• Apple Calendar App
• Fantastical 2
• Calendars 5

I've tried all 3 and all 3 exhibit the same behavior, but not on my iPhone.
