Does anyone know when the Apple Watch will be available in additional countries (such as South Africa) other than Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK and the US?

This is what Tim Cook said yesterday at the earnings call. No word though on which countries will be in the next wave.

I think we're in a good position and sometime in late June we currently anticipate being in a position where we could begin to sell the Apple Watch in additional countries. That's our current plan.

Nooooo! :( But, luckily now I have more time to save up for the Watch!

According to the local Apple authorised reseller in South Africa, the pre-order platform for the Apple Watch in South Africa isn't open yet but shipping is expected to begin on the 10th of May 2015.

On a Sunday? That doesn't seem likely.

Yeah I really wouldn't think so. I wouldn't count on it happening before June unfortunately.

I also wouldn't trust an Apple Authorized Reseller employee. They are unlikely to have any more info than any of us. The people that work for the official Apple Stores barely ever have more info than the people in this forum.

It's frustrating, but they're so backlogged they would only open themselves up to pissing more people off by extending shipping to other countries at this point. They'd have to either put immediate July/August ship dates on every order placed, or they'd risk pissing off the people who have already ordered in the first set of countries even more.
