When will we be able to download Watch iOS 3.0? All i can find is you need to be a developer to get it now which sucks.

It will likely be released about 2 days before the new iPhone is available in stores. Roughly 3 weeks from now.
Cool. Can't wait. Wish I had a dev account but you gotta pay for it from what I found out.
I bought this watch off of Swappa and it happened to already have OS3 on it. It was kind of a pain in the butt because I had to put the iOS 10 beta on my iPhone in order to get it to pair.
Yep, unlike iOS, there's no public beta for watchOS yet, as far as I know

You can put dev/public beta of iOS 10 on your phone. But the 'dev' version requires a dev account.
watchOS dev builds also require a dev account. I don't think there's a public beta of watchOS available this cycle.
It's around the corner, not worth the $$ just to get a couple of weeks head start at this point.

I think the reason that they do not offer a Public Beta of watchOS 3 is because there is no way to restore it back to watchOS 2 if there is a problem.
Yes, it is most definitely the case. There is no way to downgrade your watch without shipping it to Apple for a 'repair'. Until there is a way to downgrade at home, there will not be a PB for the watch.
You might have misread what I said. The only way to downgrade is to send it to Apple. That is why there is no PB.
The $99 is covering everything though. It's not just watch os, you get to be a dev for safari extensions, watchOS, tvOS, iOS, macOS, write apps for macOS and sell through app store, etc. I bet ya if MS would have done this 10 years ago, they would have charged for every single time you login I think it's a bargain to be honest. Especially if people become a developer to be .. a developer ... an investment into what product, software, service, etc they're making. Like renting a building you sell shoes from. Rent is nothing compared to the revenue those shoes will make ya.

Backup is about the user data and iDevice setting but NOT the OS. So, yes you can backup your data and settings but you can't revert to wOS 2.2. There is no way to do a user DFU mode on the
Watch.
And to provide the counterpoint, if you do this and brick your watch, Apple may choose not to "repair" (probably replace it) it for you without you paying a hefty fee, or even full value. They will know that you are not a developer and they will know how the Watch got bricked. This is essentially voiding the warranty.
OP is a newbie so cut him/her a little slack.
OP it is wOS or watchOS or just the OS for the Watch.
