The only fear I would have is we have had one watch screen and one watch back just fall off in this forum. Not sure but it sounds like the glue they use to hold both of these on is critical to it being water tight. The OLED screen is very sensitive to water so you will know quickly and Apple will or course replace it!
 
It's unofficially official - the Apple Watch is waterproof after all.

That alone is worth the cost of entry for an excellent multi function device.

Just the peace of mind when water is near means a lot to me.

I still don't shower with my Apple Watch, but I now can, if I wanted to.

And there are many existing threads with photo documentation that they are NOT waterproof.
