How many of you are a little tired of the night mode when you use apple watch maps. The night mode is a little annoying
and not good for my eyes. Anyone know why apple did this and at least give us the option to choose Day or Night mode....just irritates me.

Totally agree. Is there no way to switch Apple maps to light mode on Apple Watches? We know this can be done since it is standard procedure on iPhones and iPads.

Especially on the smaller screen, readability would be massively improved with brighter maps instead of the current hues of dark gray, dark blue, dark green with almost no contrast...

Any ideas?

What I fail to understand is that for most people in this forum it's not an issue, I don't even bother using the app because of the "night mode" it's just horrible to look at the map. I wish I knew to whom to bring this issue with Apple because it's just annoying.

You could try leaving feedback.

Now that I'm aware of this issue, I agree it's annoying, but honestly I've never noticed it because I never use maps on the watch. I just use my phone for that.

I have been searching the Internet about this topic quite a bit. There seem to be users that are able to switch maps to light mode. So, is the always-dark mode a bug on some devices? Or was it just introduced with recent watchOS versions?

...I'm not sure if I should submit this to Apple as feature request or as bug...

You might want to look when it was posted because years ago you had that option and now you don't
