I'm confused here. When I'm in the workout app and doing an out door run, my pace starts at _ _'_ _" then as I start walking (slowly) it jumps to 15'00" and continues to drop the faster I go. When I get to my usual pace it's actually correc though?? (Around 8'12") but it gets lower the faster I go... Any runners know what's going on here?

well could be wrong here.. but its more measuring time to complete a distance. lets say 1 mile.. so the faster u go, the lesser he time u will take, hence its dropping..

This is what pace is in running terms, it's not speed.

Pace is time per unit distance - smaller is faster, ie: less time to go a certain set distance. minutes per mile, minutes per km etc.

Speed is distance per unit time - greater is faster, ie: more distance achieved in a certain set time, meters per second, miles per hour etc.
