My screen started scrolling on its own when I swipe down for notifications. I googled the issue and it says my Digital Crown needs to be cleaned by running it under water. I tried that twice but it’s still doing that. I also tried restarting the watch. Any suggestions on how to clean the Digital Crown or another solution?

thanks

Did you try running it under warm water while turning it? Using anything but water may dry out the seal and effect the water resistance so I wouldn't use anything else..

Yea I tried that for about 15 seconds. I will try it again for a longer period of time

I guess you could soak it in water for 10-15 minutes to let the debris loosen then rinse it off just as long as you're confident of the water resistance. I know it deteriorates over time, so if the watch is older you'll have to decide if you want to chance it

After chatting with Apple support, I’m going to the Genius Bar tonight.
Thanks

Added note: this must have been the reason my battery was dying so quickly, because the Digital Crown never allowed the screen to dim

Hi Spurbs, how did you go at the genius bar? I have the same weird digital crown/auto-scrolling issue. And same battery issue. Could they fix it? COsts?
