I want to adapt to a pattern where I leave my phone outside my bedroom at night and instead have my Apple Watch on the nightstand. Is there a way to make it so that the watch will notify me audible upon the second time a close contact calls me at night. Silent the first time anyone calls. (In case of an emergency...)

Is it doable?

I do not think you can. When you watch is on the charger it assumes you have your phone. Only time your watch will make alerts is when on your wrist.

I don’t think that is correct. My watch will ring for calls while it is in nightstand mode, but not any other notifications except alarm and timer) but it won’t silence the first call. It just always rings.

Ok. I want to be less on the phone, but it is a good thing for family members to be able to get a hold of me in an emergency.

Thank you for answering!

You can use Focus to only receive phone calls from selected contacts, or when someone calls repeatedly within a short time.

Set up a Focus to do this, then set it to turn on automatically at night.

Nice, but will the watch also "ring" upon the second call at night if the phone is elsewhere. (Trying to clean up sleep habits) I will test this myself and "chime in".
