I noticed when my watch is connected to wifi only (little green cloud appears) none of the 3rd party apps work. Only the built in apple apps seem to work. Do devs need to update their apps to work on wifi only or does Apple not allow 3rd party apps to work on wifi only?

3ed party apps can 'work' however they need the iPhone to shuttle info back and forth. So if for instance your 3ed party app needs some internet info updated then it needs the iPhone to pass through. Also if your iPhone is connected to the same Wifi it should work.
