I set iWatch to open my MacBook, it worked once, then I am getting this message. Am I an idiot because I don't understand what this means: "Unlock with Apple Watch requires your password when Mac restarts"

It’s like with your iphone and touchid/faceid: If you reset your computer, you need to input your password once and then the apple watch will do it’s auto unlock of the machine when you lock it or it goes in standby.

As stated above. When you Mac first starts up (including a restart) the very first time you want to login as your user, you have to enter the password manually into the Mac. Subsequently, the Apple Watch will do it, as long as all the conditions are met (such as wi-fi, bluetooth, etc).

A similar analogy is that once a week you must enter your iPhone password. Or, after a restart. The rest of the time TouchID will do it.

Unlocking my Macbook Air with my watch is ... so frigging awesome. I have yet to adapt to it, I instinctively go to enter password then, bzzt, watch buzzes, and boom I'm logged in. Makes me smile every time. :)

Love it as well. And the fact that they changed the unlock sound to an actual lock instead of the notification sound. That was really annoying.

It used to do this on my MacMini, but I thought I read the feature went away since the update. Wondering what I'm doing wrong?
