I don't know if this is just a placebo but when you reduce transparency from the Apple Watch iPhone app, the watch doesn't lag or drop frames not nearly as much as it did before (scrolling through long list, glances etc.).

I got this idea from when people were suggesting to reduce transparency on Yosemite machines to boost the performance.

Let me know if you get similar results. :)
 
Apple Watch performance boost?

I haven't noticed it do this anyway. Only performance problem I see is when loading the weather sometimes or other third party apps.
