there
wow
early or mid last year I shipped my  watch SE for a new battery to  repairs "pros"
they done told me my watch needed a new logic board, a $300+tax charge for a $265 watch,
I told them to recycle that as they shipped that back to me.
sure enough the watch popped up red after a charge, so I stuck the tin a drawer located in my carport.
well today for shoots and giggles I used a watch charger and VIOLA!
the watch works!
im recharging the device now fully and contemplating what to do with that since who know how long that will work.
so im baffled,
did the mold an Florida mildew repair what ws wrong, or I there a code inside that turned that off for a year?

what a weird experience!

Don't know who those "pros" are but it's not Apple, right? Cause they wouldn't repair a watch, Apple would have given you a refurb, not sure what the service fee would have been though but I think it $99.

Those "pros" don't sound like they knew what they were doing, and/or are a scam.

nope 100% apple
I shipped the watch back to apple via apple com.
apple/support and another apple rep replied standing by their decision of that $300 fee..
2024 was just a bad year for my  "things" as none performed well except my MBA2012.
2025 is getting better
so .....since the watch works which calculated a 26 mile bike ride, then the battery went
as last year their was a red warning string the watch was in need of repair.

that watch works better now except for the the 2 hour or so battery life
as I will decide to replace the battery or get a refurbished one.

do you have an  watch, jz0309?

Thanks for clarifying, I guess I took the $300 charge incorrectly, I do not really know how much Apple charges for out of warranty replacements, thought it was less.
I had AWs since S0 and currently have an Ultra 2 and a S7 Ti. I always get AC+ for my watches as I bang them all the time...

are they on the same phone?

anyways
update
for the record, i'm ordering a battery replacement, now
only $100 129 with shipping, tax...
the invoice will work once I charge the watch, turn off "find my"
or I can do that on my phone, but that is not hooked up to dup.
what a mess, but a light in the tunnel!

Yes, you can pair up to 5 watches to the same phone.

I would suggest to hold off on that battery replacement just for a little while and see what goes on sale after the announcements today

too late now......my box will be shipped in a day or 2
.
I would rather use this watch instead of getting a new one
since recycling the original one is kinda not healthy for the environ.
honesty in 2023, I over used that watch since I swam, ran, walked 6 miles rode 40 miles.
but stil ate like a Lanister on a gourmet Netflix food show the year.

now I just pedal everywhere, eat plants and have 3 cateye™odometers that I track my
statistics on "Numbers" as the WATCH will be for sleeping
or remote to control TV, or  music playback mistakes.

I was ready to by that polar™ faceless loop band that launches next week.

to sum up this popular most ever replied MRF post evah!:

I declined the repair on the watch and will purchase a
POLAR Loop Beige Sand and will leave everyone alone.

thank you so much for partaking here, as their is some participation gifts
as you exit through the lobby

cheers!
