I'm returning my Apple Watch Ultra and I went to settings on the watch to erase all content and data but it said that I first need to unpair the watch from my phone. I did this and the watch now looks like it has wiped and comes up with the screen asking to bring my phone close to the watch to pair. Also once unpaired I also went into my devices and removed the watch from my list, however it did then come up saying that the watch is removed but would be reinstated as soon as the watch has internet connection.

So my questions are, has the watch been erased and therefore none of my data can be accessed, and is it fully removed from my device list and won't come back if/when someone else uses it after return?

Just curious why are you returning it?

Unfortunately it's just that little bit too heavy and bulky to be an everyday watch for me.

I've always had relatively big watches but could never wear them at work, or out riding my motorbike etc so would always take them off at work, or not wear them when going out on my bike or going to the gym and getting my Series 4 Apple Watch was a revelation as it meant I had an all day wearer, but then still have my nice watches when going out.

I was hoping that the Ultra would replace the Series 4 but it's irritating and impractical at work, and it gets in the way of my motorcycle leathers and gloves.

It's a shame as it's a really great watch and for me a huge improvement over the standard apple watches. I much prefer the casing (almost looks watch like) and I much prefer the flat screen, but there's no point having another watch that I'd not wear much, if at all.

I wonder if a fellow member would want to buy your watch at what it cost you, and if they would be able to add AppleCare+?

I don’t know but I’m still within my 14 day period so would rather just get a refund tbh, plus I’m in the UK and I’m not sure how many UK members there are.

Yeah, hopefully a fellow UK'er will reach out to you. I know if I didn't have one now, and someone local had it at cost, I would snatch it up.

As I said I’d rather take it back to store for a refund so that it’s refunded back to my credit card and my Applecare+ is cancelled and refunded too

When you say my devices, is it on the Apple Watch app or Find My app? Must remove from Find my App to completely remove it and others can pair. If it still shows in Find my, then your account is still tied to that Watch. Otherwise it should be all good to go.

It was still on find my app, however I've deleted from my devices on the iphone and it's now cleared from my devices list and now on find my app. I'm not sure why this did not happen when I deleted it from my devices on my Macbook 🤷🏻‍♂️
