I have an AWSE2. I wore it earlier today to mow the lawn and it worked fine out there. Came inside, rinsed it off, showered, and about an hour later I glanced down and it had the Apple logo like it was restarting. After pressing some of the buttons it would show a red thermometer with the time. I looked that up and it said it was overheated. At that time, I had been inside for several hours and it's pretty cool.

I have AppleCare+ on it. I started the process and had the option to either request a box or take it to UPS. I'd prefer UPS but if I do that, do I need to package it up or can I just give the person my Apple Watch? If they get it and it's working fine, will they just send it back to me? If it's water damaged, I'm guessing they'll let me know and ask me to pay the deductible. It has been wet but I've never dropped it or had it opened but I guess you never know.

The timing is a little annoying... I was planning to upgrade later this year.

I’m pretty sure you have to pay the deductible but you end up getting basically a new watch.

My question is though did it just do this one time and go back to normal? If so, it’s unlikely that they will be able to recreate this issue and they’re just going to send it back to you.

Well up until a few minutes ago, it was stuck on either a blank screen or the temperature. Now it's flashing with a bar going down the center. I think it's done.

If you have AC+, you should have the option to go with Express replacement. Apple sends you a replacement Watch, you set it up and return the old one to Apple within a week or so (otherwise the holding charge that Apple puts on your card goes through).

I don't remember seeing that but I'll check again. I'm off tomorrow, would like to do UPS drop off, but I might end up ordering a shipping box.

Well now I'm curious... what do I do with that box? Do I need to drop it off at a UPS location? I think the closest one is an hour away.

Just an update on this... I decided to drop it off at UPS. I figure either way I'll need to go to a UPS store so might as well select that one.

But it won't let me turn off Find My since I can't turn it on. I tried doing it through iCloud but the AW needs to connect to the internet to fulfill the request. I'll call Apple later today or tomorrow and try to sort it out.

The watch doesn’t need to connect. Open the Watch app, tap “unpair,” accept any error messages, done.
