Hi,

My Apple Watch is going to be replaced for this kind of damage.

This happened to me twice and I can't remember hitting the watch or the display. Screen glass, bezel...were flawless in both units.

Maybe I am a bit paranoid but could be the screen protector causing this damage? Or maybe the charge stand? I use a LK Screen Protector to avoid scratches and a Elago W5 Stand (it's just a silicone stand).

What do you think? Should I avoid using them? I will receive my new replacement tomorrow and I don't know what to do.

Thank you.

Enjoy the watch the way it was meant to be.............if it’s getting damaged /scratched anyway why bother with the protector. Only one I use on rare occasion is the skin flexible ones.

I imagine the edges of the display are the weakest points, and that's where some screen protectors make contact. I've never used one. In 5 and a half years I've worn an Apple Watch every day with no screen protector or case and I've never had an issue with cracks or scratches. I did use a screen protector on my iPhone for awhile after I got a scratch on one of my previous iPhones. I didn't buy one when I got my iPhone 11 Pro and so far so good. The displays on these phones and watches keeps getting better and more resistant to scratches.

It is probably the screen protector.

I use this one when at work and haven’t had any trouble.

Same here i use mine everywhere and not one single scratch and I’m in the maintenance industry

I have been using LK screen protectors for a couple of years now and have never had this problem with either of my watches.

Hi,

Fingers cross but it's about 3 months now since I received the new replacement and no issues at all. I am still using LK protectors.

So I assume that it was just bad luck.

Thank you.
