So I just noticed now that I have a single line crack running along the edge of this display.

I never dropped this watch, nor slammed it into anything. I tried to take as much care as possible with this watch and I’m not sure how this even developed.... I DO have AppleCare+, but annoyed that I have to pay a deductible even though I never dropped it or slammed it into anything.

Do you think they will treat this as a defect like they would with a single cracked iPhone?

I would get that fixed by Apple asap before it gets worse. Use your AppleCare. That is what it is for.
Do you think I would need to pay a deductible for a single crack that has no impact point?
I’m not sure if the iPhone display quality issue flaws count for the Apple watch as well lol.

sucks because there’s no Apple appointments due to covid. All booked 😟

Apple is the only one that can and will determine if the crack is due to a defect or impact of some kind. It won't be repaired in person. The watch will be sent out to one of their depots. You can contact Apple on message and arrange for the repair.
