My trusted SE suddenly went crazy and is now in a coma.

It was on its (original) charger as usual.
Suddenly the screen went bananas and the “charging screen” showed the charging animation from 0-100% again and again really fast. 5-6 times - then it went dead. I have tried every tip with no succes. I even waited a couple of weeks to see f I could drain the battery completely…and then recharge. No succes.
The Watch was clean, no water, no sand etc. Only 3 years old.

Is it dead? Any advise?
Can I safely dispose it ( personal info still on Watch)

A fun detail: The moment it happened, my iPhone was nearby, upgrading to iOS 18. I guess theres no connection to the accident, but cant help to notice the fact.

Update 2025 if anybody has a similar problem.

I never recycled the watch - it was in a drawer for a long time...abandoned.

Then I got a new "Series 10 Watch" and one day I placed the dead SE on the new charger.
Voila: The SE returned from coma, works well, and can even be charged from the original SE USB A charger.
