Just as toothpaste and washing powder is always "new and improved", promotional advert-articles on Mac Rumors are always touting "new all-time low prices".

Next week it will be the same "new all-time low price" for Watches and AirPods, and the next week, and the next...

If the hoped-for result is that people rush out and buy now, it might cause the opposite - these articles make it very clear that, no matter the week, you'll always be able to buy at the "new all-time low price", because these prices are the de facto regular RRP, once a couple of months have past since the original release date.

But but but Apple products are special!!!! how dare they discount them!!!

That’s how Apple does sales. I have no doubt they directly coordinates with 3rd party retailers for such sales, because sales at Apple are ‘beneath them’.

Apple should stop yearly apple watch releases.
No, I think yearly updates are fine - they might as well upgrade to new SoCs if they have them. Nothing wrong with having regular Incremental updates.

The consumer just has to filter out the BS that an incremental update is earth-shattering, and should only consider updating when they need to (i.e. their previous watch has been broken or the battery is dying, etc.).

The days of the "latest model" of anything released by Apple being a must-have are long gone.

Airpods, Apple TV are not yearly releases.

But in this case they are correct.

The 11 series first hit an all-time low price just before US Thanksgiving at $50 off. Then during Black Friday weekend it dropped further to $60, then $70 off the following week, now it's $100 off. Each discount was the lowest price that particular model of watch has ever been up to that point.

I agree MacRumors can often have misleading or bombastic headlines especially about affiliate offers (such as every time they trot out the varying discounts on those OWC 14-port Thunderbolt 3 docks), but this is correctly citing the lowest price the current model has ever been.

And this is so far the longest time after the release date it has ever been. And next week will be telling us it is at "the new lowest price ever" again.

High volume items get released and is, after a few month after release, are permanently discounted by "box box" (real and online) resellers. Ir's not a special offer. It's the new de facto RRP. But it will still be given bombastic article headlines every week until the next iteration is released in the yearly cycle, and the whole circus act starts all over again.

Realistically, who buys AirPods at the Apple list price after the initial two months of being on the market has passed?

Airpods, Apple TV are not yearly releases.
Watches are. Which is what the article is about. And whether a year or otherwise, the one thing about Apple is that, unless the product is discounted, there'll be a "new and improved" version on the horizon.

I'm on a Series 7 45mm. With current sale price + trade in at BB it would be $300 to upgrade to Series 11 GPS 46mm. Still couldn't make a meaningful case for upgrading.

We got us some more snowflakes, albeit it a muted cluster.

Ai is no replacement for the eye of the designer as is Happy Holidays being no substitute for Merry Christmas! 👶 ✝️

I went from a 7 to an 11, and it’s a nice upgrade. But, the 7 also remains perfectly good, and I would have kept mine but for the failing battery.

Could we get some 3rd party devs to do an intermittent fasting app that is *completely* watchOS based with zero ties to the phone?

Main view/screen should display current fasting status e.g. "fat burn", "ketosis" "autophagy" etc. tapping more can display expanded paragraph description with small icon.

Edit start time - Ability to edit the start time on smartwatch. This way we can press start at any time and scroll back to when it started *without the phone*.

**Hide the “end fast” button.** It should never be on the main screen.

That area (main screen) should be reserved for information on the users' current fasted state, e.g. "fat burn", "ketosis" etc and then by tapping that, one could see more like a visualization of the fast as a circle, a small related icon and scrollable paragraph or two of text explaining the current fasted state. This doesn't have to all fit on one screen. We can scroll and tap our way to corresponding information/data.

Thoughts / feedback?

can someone make this?

thanks

Series 11 forces you to upgrade to liquid glass.

So I returned it and bought a new series 10 a few weeks ago.

How come there’s no uber/lyft app? That would be incredibly useful.
