I charged my Apple Watch on the new charging cable that it shipped with using an Anker Nano 47W GaN charger when it was at 46%. It charged to 100% in 33 minutes, for an average rate of 1.64% per minute. It was actually almost exactly 2% per minute up to about 98%. The last two percent took a bit longer.

When I took it off the charger, it was completely cool to the touch everywhere.

I have Optimized and Clean charging disabled.

I have been amazed by the charging speed.

I got back to my hotel around 00:44 the night before last. Dropped it on charge at 18%, went for a shower and got ready for bed etc. twenty minutes later it's at 78%. Dropped back on charge in the morning around 07:20 and it hit 100% at 07:48. Wow 🤩

This thread came up as I was about to make a new thread about my new S11 charging quite slow. I don’t understand why!

Glad for you both that yours is charging quickly…

My S11 on an Apple fast charger has been great. But this morning it was stuck on 88% forever and said it was charging to full. Green lightning bolt. All good. But nothing. Rebooted and then it started to take a charge. Most odd.

Try disabling Optimized Charge Limit under Settings > Battery > Battery Health.

Not sure it was that. As it usually says when it’s limited and lets you tap a button to charge to full. It also shows a different circle around the charge logo.

For some reason yesterday my battery didn't drain as much as it usually does. (which is awesome!) So I didn't charge it before bed like I usually do because it was at 47%. Woke up and it was at 37%. Put it on the charger at 6:55 and by 7:30 it was fully charged. Impressed.

Today it charged as it should i.e. pretty quickly, and since I’ve only had it since Sept 19, it’s only been a short time to observe, but maybe one of every 3 or 4 days so far, I notice the charging is super slow.

I don’t think it’s the Optimized 80% setting since as @Mercenary said it displays quite different in those cases, but I’ll try turning that off and on, just in case.
