Apple Watch Series 2 - Can you send text via voice only? (Is that by Siri?!)

Hi All,

I may be resurrecting my very old Apple Watch, series 2!


My missus would like to:
1. Send text hands free
2. Apple Pay via waving watch at till.

She is sticking with her trusty iPhone 5SE for the moment, she loves the single hand form factor.
I thought we could try the old watch, and see if she likes it... then hopefully we can upgrade all her Apple tech!



Can I check 2 things:

Q1. Can you send texts hands free? (I.e. talking to Siri?)

Q2. Also, While I'm here - Can I check - Apple Pay does work on Series 2 doesn't it? Its been sooo long since I've used it!

I did a search on the internet, kept coming up with ultra 2 - no... that's not the watch!

Apple Pay did work on my series 2. I feel like using Siri to send texts worked too, but it's ben a very long time since I sed that watch, so can't be 100% sure

I'm in the same boat, I canna remember as well!

if I did use Text / Pay facility - it may have been at the very start - was slower than way I use to do them, so I ditched that use with the watch


Hope others can chime in.


Anyone out there still using the AW2?!

Good point about the slowness of it, it may put the other half off straight away.

I've started looking into it, and probably I will try and get the old AW2 working again anyway, just to see though.
