Hi All,

Gutted my S2 is not going to have the latest update any more.

So what happens now? Is it the same support timelines as with iPhones? - Is it, 2 more years of security updates, then thats it?

What happens after that?
Is the last update a lockdown type update, when you can only pair with watch and no other connectitivy?

Hope you can advise.

Regards
Martin

For what it's worth, there isn't a single Apple Watch generation that has been put on the vintage or obsolete list yet (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201624).

So software support is probably gone at this point. But hardware support is still available (as to whether it's worth paying money to repair a S2 or not, though, that's a different question).

That said, it's going to be like when you use old iPhones or iPads - you can download apps only if the developer has an older, compatible version available. The Watch doesn't (at least, it shouldn't) have a killswitch that lobotimizes it after a certain period.
