I was surprised to come on here tonight and see a plethora of threads stating the exact opposite. I was curious if anyone else saw an HUGE increase in battery life, like myself.

My AW3 died on Friday night, the night I activated my iPhone X. I charged it that night, used the watch all day Saturday, put in powersave, used Sunday, put in powersave, used Monday (was at 37%) put in powersave, and then used all day Tuesday (was just at 5% when I put on charger)

4 DAYS of use (not using for sleep monitoring). I have never had anything like that. Usually I just get 2 days out of a charge, but this is something other worldly!

Anyone else?

I would say my battery life is around two days. But it's also difficult to tell depending how you're using your Apple Watch and what for.

I was already questioning myself, as I see a huge improvement as well since coupled to the X.

Usually I lose 40% on average on my original S0 during a day at the office (not using it that much, some notifications, checking the calendar and using the 'now playing' controls during my ride to office and back home).

The last two days it only used 20% during work and currently battery is still at 96% after half a day at work plus half an hour trip.

I also do not know what is going on here, iPX is running 11.2 dev beta2 and the S0 watchos 4.2 dev beta2 currently.

I use it for notifications, checking the time normally throughout the day, brief boot ups of workout if I walk to lunch from work etc. No music listening, no calls for the most part. THis is the same way I used the S0 and my S3 before the X. But the battery has been given a whole new life. I have no idea why....

Is there a difference in the Bluetooth versions between other iPhone models and the iPhone X?

Could be that older ones are using less efficient connections via backwards compatibility on the Bluetooth spec?

Then again, why would the iPhone 8 also be worse on battery life?

I’ll do some googling
[doublepost=1510156507][/doublepost]Well the iPhone 8 and X now have bluetooth 5.0, which is up from Bluetooth 4.2 since the iPhone 6...

Both GPS and Cellular AW3 have bluetooth 4.2, so effectively there should be no difference on this count then.

I wonder what is effecting this difference then? So curious.

Hmmm, yeah idk. I am not lying about this. The increase since I got my X is not just a coincidence. It’s plain crazy.

I noticed this as well, I had turned off cellular on the watch to save battery and only turn it on when needed, but this happened at around the same time as getting the X. I'm seeing the same excellent battery life as others here and thought it was the cellular switch off, will re-enable it and see what happens.

I never even turn my cellular off. Now, I have noticed I hardly EVER use the cellular feature. It only equates to maybe a few minutes a week (after the $6 months I might turn it off...), but ever since getting my X I am consistently getting 3 days out of the watch.
