The Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE is still available in a limited number of countries, even months after its launch, as Apple works to establish connectivity deals with various carriers.

Starting on April 5, customers in Thailand will be able to purchase an LTE Apple Watch Series 3 model through TrueMoveH, according to Apple's cellular Apple Watch availability page.

Apple users in Thailand have previously been able to purchase WiFi + GPS Apple Watch Series 3 models, but the LTE version has been unavailable in the country.

With the addition of Thailand, Apple Watch Series 3 models with LTE connectivity will be available in more than a dozen countries and territories, including the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Apple Watch Series 3 LTE models were initially available in China at launch but have been discontinued indefinitely as Apple attempts to work out regulatory issues. Apple expects LTE Series 3 models to return to the country at some point in 2018.

While the Apple Watch with LTE is limited in availability, the Apple Watch Series 3 with WiFi and GPS is available in many more countries around the world.

Ok, I will not complain about the late releases in Europe anymore. Well, except the HomePod though, that one still hurts...

One thing is the extremely slow rollout of the LTE models globally, but that they don’t sell the stainless steel versions at all in countries without LTE support is beyond my understanding.

One of the major differentiation’s of the AW compared to the competition in my view is precisely the option to go for nice materials, sapphire displays and quality bands.

I would have bought a S3 Stainless Steel even without the LTE, but won’t buy an aluminium version. Guess I will have to hold on to my S2 until they sort out their mess

This isn't true. They were never discontinued - they've been available consistently since launch. Apple reportedly offered refunds for purchasers, but they continued sales with the caveat/warning that cellular wasn't immediately available.

Also cell service began on China Unicom in some areas a week or two ago.

Same here, it's the only reason why I didn't upgrade to a series 3 this year. There's no way I'm replacing my Milanese Loop steel Apple watch with an aluminum one. Meanwhile I'm stuck on a Series 0 which is becoming incredibly slow. I really hope they sort this out in time for Series 4.

Wait, for the S3, they only sell the sport version in countries without LTE support? Want to make sure I am understanding this right.

Yes. And IIRC, no Nike+ variants, not even the GPS ones.

We do have Nike versions, as they are alu-versions like the sports watches.. But no LTE Nike versions of course.

Yeah it really sucks - only sport
